Too often we hear the job applications of mothers being turned down due to her family life, so here are 10 reasons why you should hire a mother (or else you’re missing on quality talent)!

1. Super Multitasker- Mums have mutiple things thrown at them simultaneously & somehow she manages to complete all tasks in a timely manner after prioritising them in order

2. Resilient- many times she may fall & feel defeated but she gets back up again and tackles the next day with might and force

3. Fast Learner- whether she has one child or mutiple children nobody ever knows it all. She is learning new things daily and quickly and applying it to daily life

4. Building Meaningful Relationships- she is figuring out the new version of herself as well as managing the personalities of her child(ren). She is able to engage and build rapport to keep on top of the days objectives

5. Emotional Intelligence- she practices patience, kindness, authority, persuasion, etc. These combinations are your secret weapon for managing clients at work

6. Motivated- nobody is more motivated than a mum building her legacy for her children to admire one day

7. Working Under Pressure- she doesn’t crack or give up because no matter what she knows she has to keep going as she is responsible for her little humans. Regardless of the weight on her shoulders she conducts herself in a beautiful manner to reach the end goal

8. Compassionate- she may have a thick skin and be able to stand her own ground but she also considers others, values equality and does well by peers, team members and colleagues

9. Authoritarian- she knows what she wants and how to get it… but she never leaves any party at a disadvantage

10. Trustworthy- a mother withholds and reveals as it’s suited to ensure the happiness and safety of her children. Such a quality makes her someone others can depend on.

There is a lot more to add and the list is endless! Be mindful of language when speaking to peers who are mothers or when dealing with candidates who are mothers. Having children is not a disadvantage, as we can see from the above, she posses the qualities you need to enable the business to thrive!
