Being chosen is a pattern I have seen a lot lately.
Often highly self-aware, capable women…
still holding back.
Not because they lack clarity.
But because, underneath it all, there’s a quiet question:
“Will I still be chosen if I’m fully myself?”
So they soften their message.
Adjust their tone.
The body language changes, it shrinks.
And the same choice: Stay within what feels acceptable.
And it works…
They’re liked. Respected.
But being accepted isn’t the same as being chosen.
You’re not meant to be chosen
for who you are when filtered.
You’re meant to be chosen
for who you are when fully expressed, by you first and foremost.
The right people don’t feel overwhelmed by you.
They feel aligned with you.
I've had that same struggle lately.
I can be overwhelming for many and I thought it was my own inner strength.
So, I lowered the tone.
I changed a few things in the way I do things.
Then I realised I was scared. Scared of losing connections.
Of not being chosen, accepted.
Being chosen isn’t something you earn.
It happens when you stop holding parts of yourself back.
When you truly unleash yourself.
So the real question is:
Where are you still trying to be accepted…
instead of allowing yourself to be fully chosen by yourself for who you really are?
