Summary
Most people I work with are doing well financially.
They're earning good money, building assets and making sensible decisions. But at a certain point, things start to feel a bit disjointed and that's usually when they come to me.
I've spent 10 years in financial services, working across both financial advice and compliance including serving as Head of Compliance with FCA-approved SMF16 status. That dual background means I don't just understand financial planning. I understand how it should be done properly and what responsible, rigorous advice actually looks like in practice. Now, as an independent financial adviser, I bring all of that to every client relationship.
I work with private individuals, families and business owners. Typically people who are financially successful but feel like their affairs could be working harder or more efficiently, for them.
That often looks like this:
- Someone earning over £100k, quietly losing more income than they realise to the personal allowance taper and the 60% tax trap
- Pensions built up over the years, with no real sense of direction or whether they're actually on track
- Investments that exist, but aren't structured around any long-term purpose
- A growing property portfolio with little thought around what happens to it further down the line
- An estate quietly heading towards a significant inheritance tax problem- simply because no one has sat down and planned for it
- Nothing is necessarily wrong. It's just not joined up.
That's where I come in.
I help clients take a step back, understand what they've actually got, and put a clearer structure around it, so everything works together properly.
A particular area of focus for me is inheritance tax planning. Many of my clients have spent decades building wealth, only to discover that without proper planning, a significant portion of it will pass to HMRC rather than the people they actually want to benefit. That's a problem worth solving and one that's often more straightforward to address than people expect.
In practice, this means helping with things like:
- Identifying IHT exposure and using exemptions, gifting strategies and Business Relief to reduce what HMRC will ultimately take. Business Relief in particular is a powerful and often underused tool, especially for business owners and those with larger estates
- Structuring wealth in a way that preserves it across generations, without unnecessary complexity or loss of control
- Reviewing existing pensions and investments to make sure they're actually fit for purpose
- Structuring finances more efficiently for higher earners, including dealing with the personal allowance taper and the 60% effective tax rate
- Simplifying what can often feel unnecessarily complicated
We've also built our own bespoke Model Portfolio Service within our Central Investment Proposition, designed to provide a consistent, structured approach to long-term investing.
I'm proud to be part of Broom Consultants, recognised as a VouchedFor Client Trust Award Winner 2026 and highly commended for both client care and client impact.
The focus is simple: clarity, structure, and a bit more confidence around what you're doing and why.
If things feel scattered, or you're not quite sure everything is set up as well as it could be I'm always happy to have a conversation.
